在阿拉巴受伤后接过队长袖标的萨比策在赛后通过社媒发声。萨比策晒出了自己和队友的谢场照，并表示：“我们会重振旗鼓的。感谢大家令人难以置信的信任和支持！为我们的国家感到非常骄傲。”

奥地利在本轮欧洲杯小组赛0-1负于法国、3-1击败波兰、3-2力克荷兰，力压法国荷兰两大传统强国获得了D组头名。但在面对3个月前6-1血洗过的对手土耳其时，却稍显意外地在16强战就“爆冷”出局。
